Llangollen and the Dee Valley

Renowned for the surrounding hills and the River Dee, Llangollen has something for all our clients. There is an astonishing range of cafés,  restaurants, and interesting independent shops to browse and interesting places to visit.  But it is its magnificent position ampngst the hill surrounding the town, and the delightful Dee Valley that we want you to experience.

Llangollen is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site along eleven miles of canal from Gledrid to the Horseshoe Falls via the spectacular Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. The town was also awarded Cittaslow status in 2013.

Llangollen is great place to visit. Llangollen has a reputation for welcoming people, whether for a day or two or longer.

Walking around the Dee Valley and the fringes of the Brewyn Mountains is superb. Offa's Dyke runs through this area, and the walk along it - it is called the Panorama , a spectacular and dominating outcrop of Carboniferous Limestone from Worlds End and Eglwyseg to Trevor is stunning. Great outcrops of limestone providing walkers and climbers with ample scope to escape civilisation for a while, as we walk under the magnificent limestone cliffs.

Then there is Llangollens castle - Castell Dinas Bran - perched on a rock outcrop, a ruin now but a lovely walk to the top and round it. Where else would you find a steam railway, horse drawn boats on a canl and Telfords magnificent A5 highway to Holyhead in such close proximity

If walking is your passion and you never tire of stunning views,- then this area is for you.

What Others Said...

A  brilliant weekend - had lots of very favourable comments.  A really beautiful part of the country.  Guides were all excellent and although we don't normally we had a little collection for them so if I send a cheque to you, please would you be kind enough to distribute it?  They really were very caring and looked after us so well.Especially on Saturday when the weather conditions were quite difficult and with large groups of mixed abilities. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope that we are able to join you again in the future.Thank you very much for all the arrangements
